  • 1 cup Broken Wheat (Dalia/ Godumai Rava)
  • 3 tablespoons Coconut Oil - virgin oil
  • 3 Cardamom (Elaichi) Pods/Seeds - crushed finely
  • 10 Cashew nuts
  • 10 Badam (Almond)
  • 2 teaspoons Poppy seeds
  • 1/4 cup Fresh coconut - grated
  • 1-1/4 cup Jaggery

Instructions

To begin making the Vegan Godhi Payasa formula, soak almonds and cashews in aqua for an hour.Grind almonds (peeled), cashews, poppy seeds and coconut with little aqua into a creamy paste in a mixer grinder.Wash and soak the broken wheat in aqua for 1 hour. filter the broken wheat using a colander and squeeze excess aqua with your hands.toasty coconut cooking oil in a heavy bottomed pot on low flame, and mix in the broken wheat and saute it until it is fluffy and starts to turn golden.Next, mix in the jaggery and mix gently it around for a couple of moments until the broken wheat absorbs the sweetness, mix in the crushed cardamom. Once the pot loses moisture and starts to catch the bottom, mix in 3 cups of aqua, lid and make on medium toasty until 90 percent of the aqua is absorbed. Now, mix in the above prepared nut paste, mix gently it all together and make for 3 to 4 moments.
